"The Butler"

I love movies that depict the lives of actual people. So it's no surprise that I am very excited to
see "The Butler" this weekend. The movie is based on the life of Eugene Allen and chronicles the 34 years he worked as a butler in the White House.

Before Allen died in 2010, he did get to see his life come full circle.
He got to vote for our Nation's first black president.
And was present in Washington D.C. to witness the swearing in of President Obama in 2008.

In a recent interview Allen's son and Wil Haygood spoke to Anderson Cooper
(Haygood wrote the book that inspired "The Butler") about Allen's
reaction to seeing President Obama sworn in.
 Allen said to Haygood,
"When I was in the White House, you couldn't even dream that you could dream of a moment like this."
