Where's The Compassion?

Compassion: is the virtue of empathy for the suffering of others.

This past Monday, a man was pushed onto a Subway track in NYC and was killed by an oncoming train. A photographer happened to be there when the man was pushed. He tried to pull the man up off the track but was not strong enough. So he used his camera flash to try to get the train conductor's attention. In the midst of that, the photographer captured images of the man on the track, facing the oncoming train.

I am not posting the picture on my blog, but you can click here to see it and get the full story of what happened.

What bothers me is the fact that the NY Post opted to print the photo and use such and inappropriate headline for the story. It's sad to know that they are so compelled with shocking readers, instead of having consideration for the man's family. It's even worse to know that the last image this family has is of their loved one about to be killed.

In my opinion, it was tasteless and unprofessional for the NY Post to publish the picture.

Just goes to show the lack of empathy and consideration people have for one another.
