Stand Like An Oak Tree

The Oak Tree
by Johnny Ray Ryder Jr.
A mighty wind blew night and day.
It stole the Oak Tree's leaves away.
Then snapped its boughsand pulled its bark
until the Oak was tired and stark.
But still the Oak Tree held its ground
while other trees fell all around.
The weary wind gave up and spoke,
"How can you still be standing Oak?"
The Oak Tree said, I know that you
can break each branch of mine in two,
carry every leaf away,
shake my limbs and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth,
growing stronger since my birth.
You'll never touch them, for you see
they are the deepest part of me.

I'm so thankful that God has blessed me with determination and the will to always strive for excellence. Being complacent is not an option for me. So while I strive to make it to the top I have no problem standing alone. Often times people do not always share your ambitions and dreams so they will be less likely to support you; while others don't support because they are jealous.

Whatever the reason is it's important to remember that no one can look out for you like you can. When you are trying to achieve a goal, everyone and anything will come against you and try to bring you down. Remember to always stand tall and stay strong like an Oak Tree.

"People will hate you, rate you, shake you and break you. But how strong you stand is what makes you." - Unknown
